Our Story
Every brand has a beginning. Ours starts with two friends, a shared love of beautiful things, and a phrase that has lived in Caribbean hearts for generations.
Cuba y Puerto Rico, son de un pájaro las dos alas. Cuba and Puerto Rico are two wings of the same bird.
Eyminel Viel was born and raised in Puerto Rico, the daughter of a Cuban father and a Puerto Rican mother. Lourdes Gayo was born and raised in Miami to Cuban parents. Two women, two islands, one heritage, carried in their blood long before they ever met.
When they did meet, it wasn't in a boardroom or a fashion studio. It was at work, in the everyday rhythm of ordinary days, where the best friendships often begin without warning. What started as conversation grew into trust, and what started as trust grew into a shared dream: to build something of their own, rooted in the things they both loved. Fashion, beauty, and the feeling of walking into a room like you belong there.
They wanted to create more than a store. They wanted to create a place where women could find pieces that didn't just dress them, but enhanced them. Clothing and accessories chosen with an eye for what makes a woman feel confident, elegant, and unmistakably herself.
And so, Dos Alas was born: two wings, two friends, one vision.
The name is a tribute to where they come from. Cuba and Puerto Rico, two islands so close in spirit they've long been called two wings of the same bird. It's also a tribute to what they built together: a partnership strong enough to carry an idea into a living, breathing brand.
Every piece we carry, from the tailored ease of Pompousa to the handcrafted detail of Manacoa's belts, is chosen the way Eyminel and Lourdes have always chosen things for themselves and for each other. With love, with intention, and with just the right mix of fun and elegance.
This is more than a store. It's two friends, two islands, and two wings, lifting each other, and now, lifting you.
Welcome to Dos Alas.
